This will be the first secondary school in Warsaw's Wesoła district. The project, prepared by Plus3 Architects, is being launched. The first students will be admitted by the institution in 2023.
On June 22, the foundation of the school building on Slowackiego Street was laid, the foundation act and the symbolic cornerstone. The modern high school will accept 600 students - the cost of the investment is nearly PLN 34.5 million. This is the first institution of this type built from scratch in the capital in twenty years.
We are carrying out a record investment program - we have already handed over 22 kindergartens and 11 schools, which has allowed us to create about 8,000 new places in schools and 3,500 in kindergartens. Thanks to the facility on Slowackiego Street, Wesola will have its first municipal high school. It will be a modern, well-designed school with an auditorium with more than 200 seats, a well-equipped sports hall with an area of 700 sqm and a gym, as well as an interior patio where young people will be able to relax between lessons.

SOCIAL WILL
The construction of the school is, among other things, the result of public consultations held in 2018, during which as many as 70% of the district's residents voted in favor of the concept of creating a new secondary school in the neighborhood. Formally, the school is already in operation - in the interim period from September 1, 2019, it uses the premises of Elementary School No. 385 in Stara Milosna. Currently, 280 students study at the high school, this number will eventually more than double.

design from competition
The design of the building was created by the plus3-architekci architectural studio, which won the architectural competition, decided in late 2019. In fact, the contractor's introduction to the site took place in November 2021, although the official start of construction was made only now. By mid-March this year, preparatory work was underway (including fencing the site, preparing facilities and connections). According to the schedule, construction will be completed and the building will be put into use at the end of 2023.

modern architecture
The future headquarters of the high school is a modern one-story building with an area of more than 6,300 sqm. In addition to teaching rooms, the building will include an auditorium with a 229-seat auditorium function and a canteen. The facility will have an interior patio that will allow students to relax outdoors. Next to the school will be a 700 sqm sports hall with a gym. The design of the school building uses environmentally friendly heat sources: air source heat pumps supported by condensing gas boilers. The roof of the sports section will be covered with photovoltaic panels to support the school's electricity supply.
